On November 5th, Shepherd of the Mountains will host a joint Reformation service with The Springs at 4:00. Pastor David Waterstradt from Hope Lutheran in Penryn and our Sierra Circuit pastor will preach. A celebration meal and entertainment will follow. Please make plans to attend, so that we can celebrate the full and free forgiveness of sins together!
Shepherd of the Mountains and The Springs has a new young adults' group! This is a fellowship group for college-age adults, whether you are in school or not. The group meets on Friday, November 10 at 6:00 p.m. at The Springs. Come and bring a friend!
Come one, come all! Choir is rehearsing again, in preparation for Reformation and Christmas! We meet Sundays after Bible Study at 11:45 am, typically on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, and ALL are welcome! See you in the balcony!
Make an appointment to have your picture taken for our new church photo directory. Go to www.shepherdscorner.net and click on the “Schedule your photography session” picture. When you schedule your appointment online, you are able to lock in your preferred time. If you cannot make your appointment online, sign up here. Please indicate which day you would prefer: Saturday or Sunday. Also indicate what time you would like your picture taken. On Saturday, sessions are still available between 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. On Sunday the available sessions are between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m. Please consider signing up for Saturday, as we need more people on that day.
Plan ahead to have your picture taken for our new church picture directory. Photographers will be at Shepherd of the Mountains on Saturday and Sunday, November 18 and 19. The directory will be its best if everyone is involved! More information will be forthcoming.
The WELS is putting together a new hymnal, and the committee working on it wants your help! Over the next few months, we will continue testing out the service that is planned for the hymnal, after which time we will submit our feedback on the service. In addition, they are soliciting feedback on the hymns from Christian Worship that they select to be included in the new hymnal. To see the list of hymns that they are proposing to be cut from the current hymnal, visit welshymnal.com. You can also provide some feedback on the choices there. Lists from different sections of the hymnal are posted each month, so check back regularly.
This fall the Sunday School students are back in the Old Testament stories, starting with God's creation in Genesis 1 and the fall into sin in Genesis 3. Also, the Sunday School students will sing in church October 1 and October 29.
