Tree of Life Lutheran Bible Camp will be July 9-15 at Capital Mountain Campground in Weimar, CA. Camp is open to children entering 4th grade through seniors in high school. Visit treeoflifebiblecamp.org to learn more about camp, watch the video, see pictures from previous years, and download registration forms for students and counselors. Now you can even register and pay online. 

This year's theme is “UNDEFEATED in Christ!”  Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ  (1 Corinthians 15:57). If you are planning to attend camp and would like financial aid, please speak with Mr. Doug Franke.

Plan ahead to be a part of Soccer for Kids, our SotM soccer camp, held July 24-28. We'll need players (ages 5-10), coaches, and adults to supervise. Please speak to Pastor Derme for more information.

Nathanael Jensen from Ixonia, Wisconsin has been assigned as a vicar at The Springs, and he will also be working here among us at SotM. He will likely arrive in August. Praise God for this blessing!

             Shepherd of the Mountains is pleased to welcome the fabulous Tintabulations Handbell Choir for a wonderful night of music on Sunday, May 21, at 7 pm. Here is a brief description taken from their website, tintabulations.com:

             "Under the direction of Barb Walsh, Tintabulations Handbell Ensemble...performs music ranging from            classic church hymns to jazz and showtunes, proving that bell ringers...can turn a simple set of bells into an impressive music making force."

Admission to this concert is free, though a free will donation is encouraged. Please visit their website (tintabulations.com) for more information and music samplings. We hope to fill the church that evening, so please plan on attending!

10:30 am Dedication Service

It starts outside under the steeple. We will dedicate the building and process in to dedicate the furnishings including the organ, font, ambo and Altar. Pastor John Beck will be preaching for this service.

4:30 pm Service of Thanksgiving and Praise

We are inviting all the WELS congregations from our circuit and beyond to join us for this special afternoon service. Pastor Matthew Vogt (District Mission Board Chairman) will be preaching.  BJ’S BBQ will be catering in a special meal. 25 Tables, 250 chairs and a tent have been reserved for this.

Please note that the church work day has been moved this month to May 20. This change is due to a scheduling conflict. 

A baby shower for Lisa Jones will be held on Sat., May 20, at 11a.m.  It will be at the Bennett home, 14225 S. Whisperwood Dr. in Reno.  All ladies are invited to attend and are asked to bring a salad.  Watch for a signup sheet at the communications center, or RSVP to Jan at 853-1409.  Lisa is expecting a girl in July and wants a princess theme.
