Our prayers in Northern Nevada have been answered.  On September 16, 2018; Pastor Joel Heckendorf answered the call to be Missionary at Light of the Valleys Lutheran Church in Reno, Nevada.  Pastor Heckendorf has been shepherding the Lord's people for 18 years and will be arriving in Reno from Immanuel Lutheran Church (Greenville, Wisconsin).  Pastor Heckendorf will be joined by his wife, Mary.  He also has three children, one is currently attending college in Minnesota, and two are currently attending preparatory school in Wisconsin.  Please continue to pray for Pastor Heckendorf and his family as they proceed with making this great transition in their lives.

To quote Pastor Heckendorf concerning this call: "As we looked at Psalm 146, a new favorite of mine, we were reminded that we can say, “Hallelujah” no matter the circumstances, because the Lord reigns. The Lord is in control."

Ladies' book club will meet at the following times and dates.  Meetings will take place at the Bennett house at 6:30pm unless otherwise noted.  All ladies are invited to join for one or more meetings and friends are welcome.  Please contact Jan at 853-1409 for more information.  Hope to see you there!

The Chime Choir meets the first and third Sunday of each month at 8:10am to practice.  We play in that day's service during the offering or communion.  Our first practice date is September 16th.  All adults and students in fifth grade and above are invited to join.  You do not have to read music.  You just have to be willing to meet regularly and work hard.  If you are willing to serve God by playing in the Chime Choir, please let Jan Bennett know by Sept. 2. Summer is a great time to play outside and enjoy the world God has given us!  Summer is also a great time to learn more about what Jesus has done to save us! From July 23rd to 27th children ages 5 to 10 are invited to come to Shepherd of the Mountains and enjoy both of these blessings from God.

Register with the form located here.  The camp will begin each morning at 9:00 a.m.  The children will be finished and available for pickup each day at 12:00 noon.

             On Friday, April 20 we will join together for a game night in the fellowship hall at SotM. We'll begin at 6:00, but come when you can. Bring your favorite games and a snack to share!
