Wednesday evening and Thursday morning Bible study have been on break during Lent. We will resume meeting again on Wednesday, April 11 and Thursday, April 12. We are studying the end of the Old Testament era. Please join us! If you are interested in taking part, please speak with Pastor Derme for more information.
Shepherd of the Mountains has formed a scholarship fund for member families who want to attend a Wisconsin Synod high school. Caleb Hyde plans to attend Luther Preparatory School starting this fall and will be the first recipient of this scholarship. Please prayerfully consider giving a one-time or monthly offering toward this scholarship. Just mark your offering "Lutheran High School Scholarship" and place it in the offering plate. May the Lord bless our Christian youth through his Word!
Services at our new mission congregation, Light of the Valleys Lutheran Church, are underway. We are holding services at O'Brien Middle School at 4:30 p.m. on Sundays. Bible study will begin at 3:30. You are invited to be a part of these services as we work together to get this congregation started. Your presence at services will be a blessing to those who come to hear God's Word. Please also pray that the Lord will bless our efforts to reach many people with the good news.
On Sunday, April 29, two young men will be confirmed following their study of the Bible. Caleb Hyde and Harley Slattengren. Please pray for these two as they make their final preparations for communicant membership in our congregation. They will be examined during the Bible study period on Sunday, April 22.
Beginning on Monday, April 9th we will hold a weekly Bible Information Class in the North Valleys. This is intended for prospective members of Light of the Valleys, but it is open to anybody who is interested in learning more about the Bible. If you are interested in joining in this class and brushing up on your Bible knowledge, or if you know somebody else who would be interested in joining this class, please speak to Pastor Derme. The class will meet in the banquet room at the Round Table Pizza in the North Hills Shopping Center. It is near Raley's at the Golden Valley exit off of 395. The class will be Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m.
On Friday, April 20 we will join together for a game night in the fellowship hall at SotM. We'll begin at 6:00, but come when you can. Bring your favorite games and a snack to share!
